Originally trained as a Graphic Designer (GLR ‘03), it was in 2010 when I started working at Fusionbox in Denver, CO, a web development agency as Usability Designer, where I became fascinated with UX. With strategic copywriting and SEO best practices, we could show tangible results to our clients, and that’s where my problem-solving tendencies fell in love with UX.
After working at Fusionbox for four years, I was the sole designer for the Colorado-based SaaS VOD platform Intelivideo for six years. I was involved with the website, themes, admin and apps and acted as a UX Deprtement of One, from Design Lead, Researcher, Art-Director to Creative Developer.
More recently, I was at Gloo in Boulder, CO, responsible for multiple digital products such as Assessments, Registration Flow, Digital Publication Barna, SMS, Settings, and the DSM. For two years, I acted in roles such as Lead Designer, UX Manager, and Principal Designer and worked closely with other designers to ensure consistency across the eco-system.
Collaboration and learning are my primary motivators. It is not uncommon to teach myself a craft for a random one-off DIY project, like crocheting or growing vegetables from scraps. Professionally, I have continued my UX education over the years. In 2019, I completed the MichiganX Research and Design MicroMaster program and became NN/g UX Certified in 2022.
I live and work in Colorado (USA) but have lived in several different places worldwide, such as Australia, Japan and, of course, the Netherlands. In my free time, I like to spend time outdoors, run, attempt one-off DIY projects and travel with my family. I am fluent in English and Dutch.
